Grant Crosthwaite

ISPO Australia Vice-President

Greg is the Director of Rehabilitation Medicine at The Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and Conjoint Senior Lecturer in the School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of New South Wales.

Greg coordinates the annual Lower Limb Amputee Management Course and the revived Upper Limb Amputee Management Course; both jointly convened by the Prince of Wales Hospital and the University of New South Wales. He has also contributed to the Upper Limb Management Course run by Caulfield General Medical Centre and Monash University.

As a prescriber, Greg has conducted the accredited clinic for persons with lower limb loss for more than two decades, as well as a dedicated clinic for persons with upper extremity amputation in more recent years.

Greg has held a number of positions in the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine and is currently Chair of the International Affairs Committee and the Special Interest Group for Prosthetics and Orthotics.

As Convenor of the most recent annual scientific meeting in Sydney, Greg became actively involved in the work of ISPO Australia.

Greg’s relocation to Prince of Wales Hospital has allowed him to concentrate more on the management of persons with limb loss through his clinical, teaching and research efforts. He hopes that his leadership roles in the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine and ISPO Australia will promote greater involvement of rehabilitation physicians and improve the education of persons working closely with those requiring prostheses and orthoses.
