Sue Fraser

ISPO Australia Chair, Scientific and Education Committee

Renee is an Associate Lecturer at the National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics and graduated with Honours from La Trobe University in 2005. Renee has worked as clinical orthotist in both private and public practice, but was bitten by the research bug in the early stages of her honours research and has since returned to La Trobe University to pursue postgraduate doctoral research. She has been actively involved in curriculum redevelopment as the course has converted to a Master of Clinical Prosthetics and Orthotics and has worked extensively within the context of the foundational Health Sciences first year program, since its inception in 2009.

Renee’s research involves an exploration of the changing role of the clinical prosthetist within the Australian health system. This work has a particular focus on organisational behaviour and conflict management and thus has included close collaboration with the School of Public Health at La Trobe University.

Renee became involved with ISPO in 2007, joining the Scientific and Educational Committee (SEC) and has since worked closely with convening committees for many Annual Scientific Meetings (2008, 2009 &2011) and Advanced Instructional Courses (2010). She now Chairs the SEC (2010 – ongoing) and is continually impressed at the creativity and dedication of its members in meeting the scientific and educational needs of the ISPO membership. Renee is looking forward to working collectively with the SEC and the Executive Committee on meeting the goals of ISPO Australia over the next triennium.
