Jakarta, Indonesia*

The Cambodia Trust, a UK  based development organisation working in south east Asia, is developing a  Prosthetic and Orthotic Category II (initially) training program in The  Jakarta I, Polytechnic of Health Science in South Jakarta,  Indonesia.

The project will function in partnership with the Ministry  of Health and a local organisation representing civil society.

The  Cambodia Trust will function as technical and managerial partner.

We  are recruiting a Deputy Director for a period of three years, with  potential for extension.

Job summary

The successful  applicant will be responsible for the implementation and management of the  daily activities of the school.  
This will include

  • development of  teaching material,
  • the securing of teaching resources, lecturing,  
  • demonstrating,
  • organizing time tables,
  • the supervision of staff assigned to  the school,
  • the reasonable use of resources and the day to day management of  the school in accordance to the plan of action as agreed in the funding  agreements, MoU and Service Level Agreements.

The successful candidate will also be involved in the  strategic planning in relation to the school’s sustainability and  localization.
 
The successful applicant  will:  

  • be a qualified  Prosthetist Orthotist (ISPO Category I or  equivalent) with a minimum of five years clinical and/or teaching experience.   
  • have a proven track  record in people management  
  • have leadership  experience  
  • have an understanding and  appreciation for the ISPO/WHO guidelines for training  
  • have excellent communication skills in English  
  • be computer literate  
  • demonstrate understanding  of working across cultures  
  • have excellent  negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills  
  • have a proven track record in resource management, time management  and report writing.
  • understand quality management systems.

Education to Masters degree level or previous experience / qualification as a P&O educator would be helpful.
